Kids say the darndest things!

The boys and I went out tonight to do a few errands and while on our way home, this is how the conversation went:

Chase: "Mom, I know that the car is really heavy with me in it! How much does it weigh?"
Mom: "Well Chase, it is now about 50 something pounds more with you in here."
Chase: "How much more with Cade?"
Mom: "about 80 something more with him."
Chase: "How about Kyler?"
Mom: "about 30 something more."
Chase: "I know with you it is about 3,000 pounds more!"
Mom: "Thanks Chase! Do you really think I am about 3,000 pounds?"
Chase: "Yes mom! I do think so!"
Cade: "No mom, I think it is really about 300 pounds."
Mom: "Do you boys think I am really 300 pounds?"
Kyler: "yeah"
Mom: "You boys really don't need to be so kind!"

The conversation proceeded to go on about how much they really think that I weigh. Not that I am going to give it away or anything, but kids really tell it like they see it!

You are in denial. When they built your house did they put in the crazy mirror where you look larger than you are? You need to get rid of that mirror. I'm guessing 115 lbs. Like you are going to tell me. You look like an athlete that has no fat percentage. You are in very good shape!!!

That is so funny! Jason and I were busting up laughing! Kids really have no concept of weight! You do look fabulous!

ha ha ha! Kyle paid me a backhanded compliment like that once (where he was trying to be nice, but still had me weighing in as an elephant). Maybe the boys were really refering to how much all your MUSCLES weigh because you are such a super strong mommy! :)

Jaime,
I truly think that you are under weight so please dont take it to heart! If they think that you weigh 3,000lbs. Then they must think that I weigh 100,000lbs. After all Chase has told me on several occasions that I am the fat grandma! I dont blame him because he is being truthful! Its funny how in the eyes of a grandmother her grandchildren have absolutely no faults!!!!

I giggled at this one because it sounds so familiar. I don't know how many times my kids have made references to my weight. It's a good thing my husband is so complimentary or I might start believing them!
