This past weekend we had the opportunity to go to the Draper Temple open house. We loved it! The tickets that we had were for 8:40 pm. I know....it was late. I was afraid the boys would have a hard time staying awake being later, and I also thought they would be bored. They did not want to go. It is really hard to force my kids to do things that they do not want to, but in the end, it was well worth it!
On the way there, Cade and Chase were arguing about something, and I was getting so frustrated with them! Kyler kept saying how he just wanted to go home. I was beginning to think is this really worth it? I knew what the answer was, but my kids were so ungrateful for the wonderful experience that not many kids or adults get to have. Once we arrived, the church parking lot was full! I thought to myself "how many people really are going this late?"
We got on a bus that bused us up to the temple grounds, it was then that the boys were getting excited. I was happy to see them smiling, but I really think it was the bus ride; it wasn't like the school bus! It was different!
We walked the long walk to the inside of the Temple and once inside, all three boys were sooo good! They walked around whispering, asking questions, holding our hands, even Kyler stayed right with us being very reverent! I was such a proud mom! Yes....they are my boys!!
We then started the long walk back to the bus, it was there that the boys asked more questions. On the bus...more questions.....in the car....more questions! We asked the boys what their favorite part of the Temple was and they all said it was the Baptismal font, probably because they want to go swimming!
The next day, Chase kept asking when we are going there again. Kyler also told us "Thank you for taking me temple." It was so cute!! I really hope they enjoyed it and have a desire to return.
I am really grateful that we were able to go through the Temple again as a family and to have our kids see inside and hopefully they will have the desire to go again. I know that we are not perfect, but I know that we are doing what we can. I am grateful for my family and I know that we will be able to be together as a family for all time and eternity.

We went last week with Keana. I was really grateful for the opportunity to take her and let her see inside the temple. She is always asking questions about what it looks inside. It was amazing when we were inside how quite all the little kids were. I really enjoyed going. It was a great experience. I am glad you were able to go and take your boys.
i love that the kids got to go and so many of their friends did too---hopefully they remember this experience and maybe even talk about it with each other! lizzie and emmi made our tour an adventure, but we loved walking around together as a family in the temple(lizzie "why are we in the bathroom?!" as we walked through the baptismal font changing room :)
I'm so glad you were able to go. We couldn't find tickets for good times either. Everything was either super early in the morning or late at night. I'm looking forward to taking my boys. I hope they are as reverant as yours were!:)
Who says or make believe that the temple is not important to our families! It is important that we attend the temple regularly so that it will be important to our kids as well! I think that is why the church has open houses, so our children will know a little what it is like when we go! Even when the temple hasn't been dedicated they feel the spirit that is there! I am so glad that you guys took the opportunity to go even when it was late at night!
I sure do love all of you!!!!!!
SO CUTE! I'm so glad you had a good time. It's amazing what the spirit of the temple will do for your kids! I had no idea they had tours going that late! You guys must have been there all night :)
So cute!!! Your boys are always so well behaved!! We are going on Monday and I am a little nervous with just my 2 (they can be a little loud in quiet places). It is wonderful to be able to go and be in there as a family!
